Back about a year ago, I started collecting RPG minis again.

Is anybody interested in me babbling about it?

I'm not really sure what they are, so I wouldn't mind being enlightened.
I know what you're thinking. No, I don't like peanut butter.

If I had to choose between the real world or the Chex Quest Fan forums; I'd choose the Chex Quest fan forums.

Dungeons and Dragons and other Role Playing Games (RPGs) are played with little 1 inch tall miniatures (minis).

I used to collect them back in the 1980s when they were made of lead pewter and cost a dollar each.

I used to be able to buy one or two per week with my leftover lunch money.

Today The little miniatures are made out of cheap plastic and cost seven or eight dollars each. (Usually more)

I don't have money to be buying those overpriced plastic minis.

But I have learned how to make molds of the ones I do buy and make casts for only about 50 cents each.

And I am having a lot of fun doing that.

Here I am making a mold of an ogre.

And here is the cast of that of that ogre.

I am also able to make my own custom minis from various cast pieces.

Does that interest anybody?

Just haven't checked the forum in a few days.

That's pretty neat. That's a pretty clever way of making new characters. Do you also paint them?

Yes and no.

I used to paint them all the time back in the '80s, but that was when they were pewter.

I have been less eager to paint them in flimsy plastic, so I actually haven't painted any yet.

I am hoping to change that soon.

Two metal minis I ordered just arrived today.

They are made of a copper and nickel alloy, but they pretty much have the same look and feel as the classic pewter minis of the 1980s

On Thursday I also got a shipment of 50 minis.  I was delighted at getting them so quickly, but I was a little disappointed.  The lot was supposed to be for a random assortment, so I expected to get a few multiples.  What I was not expecting was for 11 of the 50 minis to all be the same guy with a whip. There were a few minis I would have loved to have gotten more of, and there were a bunch of minis on the sales page that I didn't get at all. I also got 8 space marines.  I would complain about it, but as we a know, you can never have too many space marines.

They look sick!

Metal is way cooler than plastic.

Cainiao Super Economy Global strikes again!

According to this email, my package has been delivered.

So what is in my mailbox?

NOTHING!

Here is a photo of me holding what I received after 2 1/2 months of waiting.

This is the third time this year Cainiao Super Economy Global  has failed to deliver my package.

As a point of comparison, I ordered a pair of glasses off of Amazon yesterday afternoon, and they arrived this morning in less than 24 hours, and unlike the mini I ardered, the shipping was free.

I suspected Cainiao Super Economy Global might foul up again, so I reordered the same item, but with another (more expensive) shipping option.  If this one doesn't come, I am through buying from Aliexpress.
