So What Movies Have You Watched Lately?

I saw Avatar earlier this year in 3-D with Wayc. Meh, it was epic eye-candy and played out like your typical James Cameron movie. I don't know... I really enjoyed it but I'm not sure what to think about it now that I've been away from it for a while. I'm torn on the Avatar thing, basically. 

I saw this last night:

Ya Avatar's story is really nothing new. Just a Pocahontas in the future with 10ft tall Smurfs. Other than that, its freakin' awesome!

And last week I finally opened up my DVD of iRobot that I got way back in June.

Avatar is a mixture of romance, drama, action, battle sequences, and has an environmentally friendly message AND a message of spiritual peace all rolled up into one.

Sweet stuff.

I'm starting to wonder if we, the Kuwa Clan, were the only ones that made the connection with Dances with Wolves (And me with The Last Samurai).  Almost everyone else I talked to said Pocahontas.  Its odd.

I didn't see that movie so I can't compare the two, but my brother did and he made that connection too.

(And me with The Last Samurai).

I did see that movie however, and now that you point it out... they actually are pretty similar.

Yeah, see?  Avatar, Dances with Wolves and The Last Samurai all follow the same base story of "Foreign soldier joins 'savages'".  Does it make Avatar any less awesome?  Heck NO.

Me and my friend watched Jennifer's Body and Meet the Spartans a few days ago. Both are pretty bad (although Spartans was somewhat funny)
But my dad got this movie and I don't know how he found it but I'm really looking forward to watching this:
