its interesting how the sky is orange instead of purple, i wonder if this was gonna be on the title screen at one point

It has been a very long time since I colorized that.

2003 I believe.

The original, which was from the box art, did not convert well to the DooM/CQ palette.

I had to convert it to greyscale, then to the DooM palette, then used my ancient copy of Paint Shop Pro from 1995 and recolour the individual areas, then paste them all together.

The orange sky is from the fact that the DooM palette only has 4 purples, and not very good ones, and I had to use an alternative colour that would show the detail in the sky.
