This shall be a list of ports designed for Doom/Chex Quest, which you can feel free to post port that isn't up, a link to the ports homepage, etc. This post will be edited as more ports are posted. doom.exe or chex.exe don't count as ports. There will be no discussion of which port is better than the other whatsoever. Also, feel free to post a description of a port that's on the list, and it may be added on.
Okay, with that aside, let's start listing them!
Chex Quest 3: A modified Zdoom version made for chex quest. programmed by Charles Jacobi.
ZDoom: A Doom port that utilizes advanced linedefs such as slopes
GZDoom: An off-branch of Zdoom with more linedefs and OpenGL support
Legacy: A port made for ease-of-use in level editing, while still giving support for advanced things such as scripted levels
BOOM
Doom95
Doomsday (http://sourceforge.net/projects/deng/files/)
Chocolate Doom (http://www.chocolate-doom.org/wiki/index.php/Chocolate_Doom): a port designed for running Doom in Windows as if it were still DOS, with a couple added functions like a DWANGO frontend for online and Directx support. Has built-in Chex Quest Support
Skulltag: A modified ZDoom designed for Multiplayer
JDoom: An advanced port that utilizes things like giant textures and enemy sprites
Edge
Odamex: A port made for seamless online games
Risen3D: Takes the functionality of Doomsday and turns it into a more standard port.
Smack My Marine Up(SMMU)
Vavoom
PrBoom
Eternity - an engine with advanced features such as seamless teleportation.
ReMooD
I know that there are more, but I can't remember them all, which is where you come in!
-
Doomsday (http://sourceforge.net/projects/deng/files/)
Chocolate Doom (http://www.chocolate-doom.org/wiki/index.php/Chocolate_Doom)
-
Added!
Also, feel free to say "U FAIL AT DEFINISHUNZ" if you feel the need, and propose your own.
-
Skulltag?
-
Skulltag?
Definitely!
uh... this isn't really an engine, but ZDL? It's handy, to say the least.
-
JDoom, and edge. You should just google them.

Elaborate on what ZDL does, and it may count.
EDIT: Sorry, ZDL doesn't count.
-
Aren't JDoom and Doomsday the same thing? If not, could someone explain the differences?
-
Worthy of a pin, if you ask me.
-
jdoom is the engine, Doomsday is an organized front end with custom content.
Risen3D (old branch of Doomsday, but kinda different)
and one thing...Chocolate doom doesn't "add" online. CHEX.exe has online. Its always had online. But, Chex.exe didn't have DWANGO or the other online frontends.
-
Oh, I see. So is Doomsday sorta like how GZDoom and Skulltag are with ZDoom?
-
HANGON! *goes to DooM wiki*
Ok, Doomsday is an engine that plays multiple DooM-format games. The way it handles the inputs and the like is through plugins...called jDoom, jHexen, jHeretic, and jDoom64 (NEW)
Risen3D basically takes Doomsday's old engine code and incorporates all the plugins into the engine like most other sourceports. Its slightly different, but its basically the same.

Understood now.
-
Odamex, based on csDoom (Client-Server Doom), which was based on ZDoom. Made for seamless multiplayer games.
-
Oh yeah, the lesser-known multiplayer DooM port.
-
heh...smack my marine up...SMMU
and did we mention Vavoom? (uses quake based renderer for true 3d in software mode!)
Ever heard of ReMooD? Legacy based port with pretty good features...
Doom95...
-
All right, I think I've got the list updated for now.
Also: Cool! I have a pin!
-
I still am pushing for the Chocolate online thing to be changed to "included online launcher"...even CHEX.EXE can pull off multiplayer...
also, Doomsday IS a DooM port...its based off of the DooM source code (used in all DooM games), but handles the I/O with the code differently than other ports...it does it via external plugins that triggers the different versions. Plus, Doomsday is just segmented...its not one exe with a few dependants, its the core and the extras.
-
I was playing around with Risen3D...those models look amazing.
-
For me, only the HUD models and stuff should be done...the models of the enemies just fail. I'd rather see some official id Software models in there.
-
Good luck getting them. I thought the doom2 models weren't completely horrible. The alternative model packs helped a lot.
-
Yeah, Risen3D is easier than Doomsday...but Doomsday is a bit more modern...
-
Prboom. Yep i think that pretty much covers all the source ports.

Doomsday HQ leads me to the NewDoom forums. I hate having to search for download links in a forum (save for this one). Risen3D has a straight-up download page, and it looks nice, so I'm using it for now. Besides, my graphics suck.
-
The reason Doomsday HQ leads to NewDoom is because NewDoom used to host it. However, their new server is pretty costly, so they had to skimp on bandwidth to the bare essentials. This broke ALOT of sites based there.

Perhaps no one uses this list anymore, but since its creation Doom Retro and Crispy Doom have appeared and made it big in the Doom community.
