Wow. i finally got the cut scene to work and it makes a whole lot more since. but i do have one complaint. in idiotic jones the last of the lemonade, if you save it then the blocks that open the door dont work.

I don't think you're supposed to save in it...all the scripts depend on each other, so if one isn't executed, than the whole level falls apart.

Yeah, saving in a heavily scripted level = a no-no. There's not really anything I can do there.

well...there is one...you have to restart the level to get it going, so either die, or use some console commands.

You may also use IDDQD, THE SLIMEINATOR, IDKFA, etc., to assist you. ;D

When I'm playing GZDooM and I have maybe 2% health at the beginning of the level and low ammo, I find it annoying that whenever I die, GZDooM restarts me as I was at the beginning of the level. Therefore, I IDCLEV to the level I was on, thus resetting my health and ammo.

Technically speaking, Boingo has already started his conversion. He just hasn't released anything yet.

I really wonder if he will update his sites...so much has happened, but the last update is mid '07...wait, DeiMWolf was updated just recently, but other than that...no.

I was thinking of waiting for Boingo to release his, so it would be a bit easier for me...
But who knows. One day I might decide to knuckle down and waste an afternoon (or several) trying to make CheezyDoom and Newmaps play nice together. Stay tuned...

heh...i'd say just figgure out how to convert your cutscenes, and wait for some work from boingo. Cuz, most of your mod is based on code, so converting the code is going to be the hardest part...i'd say U should start on some.

That's probably a good idea. That way, when Boingo DOES release his update, you'll be prepared and ready to make the switch. However, I do have one concern: Is is technically possible that this mod, with all of its coding, cut screens, and so forth, just can't be converted to run on anything except Doom Legacy?

its possible. most map interfaces (doors opening, earthquakes, special stuff) are supported. The camera stuff (cameras, movements, subtitles) are in there, just with a different command and thing type. True 3d is achieveable in GZDooM, as well as custom items. BUT, boingo (or xbolt) will have to re-DECORATE everything, cuz most of the stuff doesn't show right, because GZDooM doesn't allow the editing of already made stuff. (I can't edit heretic's d'sparil and make it a lamp post then put it in Ultimate doom...)

I really don't know the proper names of the enemies...but boingo has turned several heretic objects into lamp posts, extra flemoids, and teleporter things...I was just saying that you can't change an item then move it to a different game...it won't work in GZDooM

well, then why wont the communus, the teleporter things, and everything else not work? I can startup TUCQ in legacy, but most of the DeHackEd patch doesn't work. The teleporters are a big thing...and most everything else that had light definitions are broken...I wish someone would be able to get that patch off the old board...I'd like to see what it does.
newmaps, if I skip the cutscenes, works okay, but still has all the above mentioned problems. All we need right now is a DECORATE patch to replace the DeHackEd patch. It would work...

but really, if we just took out the dehacked patch, put in a working decorate that replaces the same thing# as the dehacked did, then it would just replace the stuff with the working things, and we would be good.

A DeHackEd patch would still be needed to mess with some frames. My DECORATE patch only covers items.

Do you know how to use a decorate patch? You can fix sprites with them.

uh, ok...never mind about the anon thing...that was kinda random...and I really think that came from one picture of a mouse and a cheeze and it was on the mouse's head and it said...anon, we deliver...or something i'm falling asslepelt my comp righnow....and thats not good..
so, this fixes some stuff? (i have problems running cq right now...haven't been able to test)
