I want to figure out how to play multiplayer chexquest original. I am using zdoom on a windows xp. (my laptop's OS) And plus what about those map mods for multiplayer? Thanks :)
I just checked chex.wad, and the first level (E1M1) has player starts for all four players, but the other levels do not. They do have zorchmatch (deathmatch) however.
You will not be able to play in cooperative mode, but you can play zorchmatch.
I recommend you either play The Ultimate Chex Quest (my project) using GZDooM or Chex Quest 3. They both have the original in them, and both have cooperative starts in all of the levels.

Zandronum has a server browser to let you easily join existing multiplayer games, and will automatically download any mods you are missing. If just playing co-op with a friend, I believe it supports direct connections as well, but can't remember too much about how to do that.

Yes, you can connect directly to a friend, but the person hosting will need to forward some ports. There's guides on how to do this but it might be a bit confusing if you're not familiar with stuff like IP addresses and your router's configuration page.
If you don't want to host your own servers, I have 24/7 Chex servers up, search for IFOC in Doomseeker if you would like to play them.
If the wad you want to play isn't on there, let me know, I can put up a new server pretty easily.
thanks for all the help! i am gonna get zandronum. i am also get T.UC.Q to play on the side. just to reiterate it i am on xp. so some things wont work. (whats funny is my mobile doom source client works better then my laptops) and 75 if you could please post the ips to the servers because idk if doomseeker works on xp there is no minimum requirements anywhere. thanks everyone.

I think GzDoom won't, though, so Zand might be your best bet.
