and btw... Chukker's sprites are all .bmp s.  ;)

PNG is better, no exceptions.

I put the sprite into XWE, you know how you drag the weapon sprite into the lower right corner of the crosshair and it usually gives you a hud image to place your sprite? The hud image never came.

I don't know, I had a weapon where I changed it from BMP to PNG because there was a color I wanted for it, when I loaded it in XWE it seemed to work fine.

I have the same situation... I really want Chexter to be Blue and light blue, but the palette won't let me do that

if you could repicate what you did, I'd really like to know how.  :)

Above the sprite box, there should be a button that has W:auto click it to change the type of view.
I know what you're thinking. No, I don't like peanut butter.

If I had to choose between the real world or the Chex Quest Fan forums; I'd choose the Chex Quest fan forums.

That worked... but

it looks like this in XWE

but it looks like this in the game

as you can see, for the png image that color is no longer transparent for some reason, wierd

Yeah, the engine doesn't make cyan invisible with PNGs. So you want actual transparency in the image itself.

it worked! thanks, that's great!

I couldn't imagine Chexter with green gloves anyhow.

Hmmm... for some reason when I put patches in, XWE loads it fine, but I can't get it to show up in the texture lump...

any suggestions?

When I load (raw data) a PNG graphic as a patch, it doesn't show up in PNAMES or the Texture lump, so I right click and select "add to patch names"

It says "1 texture added to PNAMES"

Still doesn't show up in Texture lump

next...

I right click and press "add to texture"

it says

"0 textures added".

why doesn't it work? It works when I just double click on the patches filter and add 256-color images, but it seems to have problems with "load raw data"

Are you sure you are adding them when you are in the patches tab?

I'm sure

Then something has to be wrong with XWE, try going to View/Options then unselect Reopen last file on start up, then go to C:/WINDOWS/TEMP then delete all of the XWE temp files you can, IDK why, but it seems to help me when my XWE goes buggy.

Hmm... Inserted a PNG of a Clear Blue Sky into my Wad, but for some reason when I go to test out the level it appears all grey.

Did you use the Raw Data Load button?

Yes. I used that, My PNG Picture appears normal. But, however, when I go to play my game (I set the PNG as the base for F_SKY1), it appears in 256 Colors.

What engine are you using and if it's GZDoom is it in OpenGL?
