Possible MicroATX media PC project

I've taken up a somewhat troubling project: building a budget Micro ATX computer, running in a tiny MicroATX case, but stocked with a video card capable of displaying on a 46 inch LCD HD screen. The other, not so preferred choice is building a small, ATX platform budget computer with the same capabilities.

I've been looking at MicroATX motherboards (intel of course), and the reviews are not looking so good. Also, the MicroATX cases have annoyingly varying standards on both power supply and video card size. MicroATX is looking like trouble all around.

I'm not even really sure where to start on the video card. I'm already planning on it being the most expensive component.

Any thoughts or tips are appreciated.

Edit: I built a brainstorm computer of sorts. I skimped on certain components (lowest price Core 2, WinTec ram, LiteOn CD/DVD burner), and a lot of the components on the list could be interchanged for some slightly cheaper ones. I'm still shopping around for motherboards and video cards.

Question: So, you wanna make something like that Macitosh that was a mini pc for the TV? That'd be cool! Just get WinXP Media Edition, a Uber graphics card (with HDMI support [for the HDTV!]), and a huge HD...But  thats basically what you got there...Take a TV tuner card (one can't live on internet alone!) and for a test, get Doomsday engine or Risen3d and play it...that'll be uber sweet! {I played one before}

I certainly wanted to build the ultimate budget media PC... but now we're just building a plain old, internet surfing, budget PC- no HD displaying capabilities. Bummer.

shoot...with a good small case, a tv tuner card, and a good video output card...you could have basicaly a MacTV without the mac, and probably with more capability.

I actually have never seen any high end Mac box computers... just those uber cheapy ones they put out a few years ago. I'll have to check them out for kicks.

I've actually been building these little "cubes" for a good long time now. They're currently being called "Ubuntu Boxes" and run Ubuntu (even more compatibility than Mac and Windows).
