It's a bit better than Ariance's, I think.

It gives a pretty good overlay of what you need to draw before you start really drawing, too (sketch 1), most artists don't show that part.

I'm doing it right now and so far it looks pretty good! Wolverine is looking a lot better than any person I've ever drawn.

As good as that is, Doom requires much less resolution, which would make that technique pretty bad for Chex Quest.

It could be useful for low resolution, it's not like you can't use gradients in a small size image
