Spock: Captain, I am detecting massive quantities of FAIL in this sector.

I dont Remember him saying that....

A minor meme from THAT BOARD. Sufficient to say that it is quite correct to say in this case.

I'll explain more tomorrow, when I have time.

Saying THAT BOARD is all that needs to be said. If you know what I mean, then hooray for you [unless you're under 18, in which case SHAME ON YOU!]. If not, then lucky you for having never seen that horrible place.

I've never dated a girl who wore more than a slight amount of blush to formal occasions.

well, thats basically all it is. A little powder stuff, some eye stuff, and thats all. But she uses about 10 different powders for different parts of her face, and takes forever to do the other. (I didn't watch her, just noticed that every time I looked up, she was holding a different case...idk)

Ugh, I hate makeup... I don't wear any, never have. The most I do is every morning I put on a super light moisturizer/sunscreen because I'm so darn pale and I don't want skin cancer. We had one of my old friends living with us for about a month and the whole time I'd known her I had never seen her without makeup. When she moved in, I got to for the first time and she looked like an alien! It was such a huge difference. I'd just rather people know me as me, not me under a mask. At the same time, I can't really knock girls for doing it. Some look pretty darn hot, I just like natural I guess.

Ha ha, yeah... so lets be nice to girls and their decision to either wear or not wear makeup!  :D

**shakes finger** I'm seeing a lot of girl stereotypes floating around in here!

Don't look at me! I'm a walking-talking stereotype enough as it is!

hmm....
am i a stereotype? not a common one, i think...

but, girl stereotypes are a lot of junk...drop the labels, man..."with you wearing that pink stuff, what if I called you 'Pinky"? I'm not a hippie, i'm just labeled such." (bad paraphrase of some time travel sci fi book)

*holding back laughter* lol

no, not changed. actually grown a bit...uh, girls seem to change more than guys do as they grow up...she followd this trait.
and I know what you mean about being clumsy. But that means its real or something. but, SHE JAPAN?!?!

Yes. She's one of the four Japanese Main Islands. With legs.
[/sarcasm]

Yes, she's Japanese. Which means she only comes up to my shoulders at best. Of course, this describes the rest of my lab group as well. I'm a bit taller than the average guy so...

But yeah, **she's cute. REALLY quiet too**, but I suppose that's normal. Friendly, but quiet. She's a MECH, which is nifty because I'm a MECA, which is very similar.

But meh. Nothing will happen.

As for the clumsyness, feh. I'm ALWAYS clumsy. When there's glass on a table, it's not IF, it's WHEN I'll knock it off. I have nearly destroyed my dinner plates several times already this year, and I almost kicked my laptop across the room whilst getting outta my chair once. So I wouldn't say it's "true".

Meh. Methinks it's me being a normal human male combined with my borderline weeaboo status.

Thats how it was for me.  Uber cute, (well, till she got into the punk thing) and uber X 10 quiet!

BTW Ataringamer, Allen and I are branded "Hippie" a lot.  We don't really care, we just correct them saying "We just look like hippies, we really arn't." (We can tell, because my older brother dated a hippie)

Well, I suppose I should make that update I said I would, eh?

Ok, so you know about the girl in my Materials Science class.

Now, you all remember from prior incarnations of this topic that one girl from the online site, quiaff? I'll call her "Jade", for simplicity's sake.

Now, Jade and I had been conversing fairly regularly during the Summer and Fall of '07, but lost regular contact around Winter '07. Communications became very sporadic at the best of times [like I'd get a message from her about once a month at most, and she'd never be on MSN when she said she would be]. So I figured she'd decided that I wasn't anything to bother with [most likely wise at the time, I wasn't doing too good, y'know?].

Well, a few days ago, I got a MASSIVE e-mail [like, literally TL;DR, except I read it] from her. Basically she said she felt horrible about the inconsistent contact, that she was actually very interested in me, but that she was scared of those thoughts and feelings and that led her to try to push me away like that [Asuka to my Shinji, anyone?].

Anyway, we talked more last night. Apparently she's going through some tough stuff [didn't say much of what], and it's got her breaking down. Basically she said that the thought of me giving her a shoulder to cry on [metaphorically and literally] was no small comfort, and that she thinks that there could be something between us.

Now, under ordinary circumstances, this would be a VERY cut and dried scenario. However, there's a few "little" details which derail that.

Firstly, she's 3000 or so miles away, and neither of us want a long distance relationship. I literally cannot change Universities [nor would I on such a flimsy premise], and she does not know if her parents will allow her to transfer out to the University in CA that she actually wants to go to [Cal State University Sacramento. Apparently they have a creative writing program there, and she wants to do that.]

Secondly, I'm almost CERTAIN she's unconsciously done what EVERY other girl I've known has done: fill in the gaps of what she knows about me with what she'd like there to be in me [i.e., her "perfect" guy]. ESPECIALLY since I'm notably different in behaviour online and IRL, partly because I have time to think about what I say here [sometimes these longer posts here will take me a half hour or more to write], so as a result I come off calmer or such than normal. As such, it is VERY easy to assume I'm one way, but if you met me you'd be surprised at how I can act.

Thirdly, and this is on my end, I'm VERY paranoid. I keep thinking "This HAS GOT to be an elaborate troll or she's leading me on to say "HAHA, I FOOLED YOU!" or something similar. [For those of you thinking "What if she's not even a girl", I've already spoken with her over the telephone. I can tell she is female. Or, at least, has a female voice. I'm trying NOT to entertain other possibilities, as I've got ENOUGH scenarios as it is]. Indeed, the evidence of it being one, while not outnumbering or outweighing the evidence contrary, is STILL there.

Finally, as I am very fond of saying: "FACTA NON VERBA!" Essentially "Deeds, not Words" or "Talk is cheap". I know, there's not many deeds that can be done over 3000 miles, but being on MSN when you PROMISE you'll be on isn't that hard to do.

So I am, for lack of better words, "Stuck". Don't want to get tied down to a girl who is on the other side of the country, but I don't want to try for the Materials girl and if some MASSIVE LUCK LIGHTNING BOLT STRIKES end up together, only for Jade to come out here and then OH BOLLOCKS! Y'get what I mean?

Man, ew-skray this. I'm going to go make some Mochi Daifuku.

I dont know Loremaster, but i do think you should give her a chance. Plus if you talked to her on the telephone, i'm sure you didn't right a speach to talk to her with, you have as much time as you would if you were talking to her in person.

I say go for it, you have nothing to loose and a girl friend to gain. (But what do i know :D) you still get to chose you what ever you choose.
I know what you're thinking. No, I don't like peanut butter.

If I had to choose between the real world or the Chex Quest Fan forums; I'd choose the Chex Quest fan forums.
