Kuwabara and I finished up the mini-series of Stephen King's The Stand. Since we've both read the uncut full version of The Stand, we did notice some stuff was cut out, and some characters were missing, but overall it was good.

Lincoln: Vampire Hunter looks fun in a completely ridiculously awesome way.  That simply titled "Lincoln" looks good too, even if it is slightly inaccurate historical wise (it implies that Lincoln personally had a much bigger and personal role in the freeing of the slaves).

I feel sorry for Xbolt if we ever decide to see "Lincoln". As someone who loves studying the Civil War, I'll probably be constantly going "Hey, that's not right!"

Skyfall. So good. Best explosion I've ever seen. Also really trippy opening sequence with Adele. Great stuff!

Watched the second Hobbit movie the other night.

Why does Peter Jackson make them so stinking long?

I don't know... The sheer amount of filler material is astounding.

Last night I watched an advanced screening of "The Grand Seduction".

It was a very good movie and I enjoyed it very much.  The fact it starred Grodon Pinsent and half the cast of This HOur Has 22 Minutes certainly helped.

Keeping it brief, "The Grand Seduction"  is the story of a down-on-its-luck fishing village (I mean harbour) where the fishing days are gone and the entire population is forced to live month to month on welfare. The village has a chance of having a new factory coming to town, but there is a problem. The company requires the town have a resident doctor. When a doctor is sent to the village (I mean harbour) for community service, the entire town is determined to get the doctor to stay.

Anyway, it gets a thumbs up from me. It was very enjoyable and funny and I found myself very attached to the characters before the end.  It was a good movie and I would highly recommend it.

Speaking of Gordon Pinsent and This Hour Has 22 Minutes ...
