Something I thought of late last night

Hey, so all of y'all got here without a hitch? Lucky. Me and my friends had more than our fair share of hitches.

I don't know what I was thinking trying to send a widebeam transmission. I knew the military had taken over, and then I knew they had released the toxin. Thank God I was immune, but curse me for blowing my cover. I wasn't sure if it was localized or world wide, but when I saw the transmission cascading down the streets of New York, right into broadcasting on the biggest screen in the big apple, I knew that I had to be the only one left in the city.
I was in the labs that day. I was working on a scattered, invisible laser that would disintegrate metal and concrete, and was just finishing off the cooling system before the first test. Thats when everyone heard the explosion, smelt the gas, and tumbled to the floor...except for me. I stood in it, almost passing out with the odor, but I was not taken down. I ran onto the roof observatory, and saw the choppers.

I knew I didn't have much longer if I stayed there.

I removed the laser from its legs and lugged it up the stairs, and thats when I started the transmission. The choppers turned right around and headed towards me faster than...something really fast... And sad to say, I shot em down. I took out each copter's prop and then aimed for the fuel tank, with deadly accuracy and devastating effects. The cooling fan then failed, and the laser overheated as the last one began its swaying decent. I discarded it, and then ran down the 40 flights of stairs to the ground, and jacked a car. All the conspiracy theories I had seen on the websites had come true, and I didn't care about anything any more. I went out driving, and took every backroad I saw, using my GPS as little as possible in case they were tracking me. Thats when I saw it...

because I didn't get much past that, except he sees an old plane, thinks he could adapt a newly developed thruster by his labs to run from two submarine nuclear power reactors, and go around rescuing survivors...and meets some people along the way to help.

IDK, definately not well thought out.
