Multiplayer Anyone?

TO ALL MULTIPLAYER CQ-PEOPLE OUT THERE:

This topic is a general multiplayer topic regarding CQ Multiplayer games via Skulltag, a DooM client. You may discuss multiplayer topics here, as well as talk about matches or anything to do with multiplayer, really.


I am the main CQ host on Skulltag.  The server is called Chex Quest United, and the password is zorcher.

Time: 24/7, baby! BC's Rambus server is up and rolling.

Here is a basic list of the things you will need:

Legacy has poor multiplayer support, and Zorchmatch matches have been difficult to pull of because of that. I might be able to host TUCQ Phase I tonight on Skulltag like I did before, but it would be on dial-up, and I can't guarantee the best results. Do you have DSL, or something that isn't dial-up, broadband, or Wi-Fi? You might be able to host.

that'd be awesome! but, you do know why we can't play lucius octavion's zorchmatch on GZDooM/Skulltag, i hope? The most we can do is play regular DooM or TUCQ phase one.

2. Passworded. Period. (other people will come in, steal clan tags...[CQ] BTW...)

well, we usually use chex warrior in CQ...if anyone gets in somehow and has something different and doesn't change...we'll know.

Plus, in your name, put the tag [CQ] in front. like mine is :

[CQ]ATARIANGAMER

GameMaster (the first member to attempt a skulltag cq match) was:

[CQ]CYLINDER (his other nickname)

OH! And also, edit the DM flags and turn off mouse aim. This is to keep with the original setting.

well, the default set up is:

1. Get Skulltag and install it using the installer.
2. Place chex.wad renamed to doomu.wad or DOOM.wad in the Skulltag folder.
3. Put both TUCQ Phase 1 and TUCQ Phase 2 Beta 3 in the Skulltag folder as well. (DO NOT RENAME!)
4. Configure your settings.

Yes, dial up will connect, but you might lag some. Is okay, though. (can you imagine everything being dial up, even hosting?)

There is better info in the original topics...buried in the 2nd or 3rd page of general disscusion.

I might try to host tomorrow if ChexCommander is a no-show. I can't guarantee the best results, but I will try my best. Default time is 7:00 PM Central time.

You can get Skulltag at http://skulltag.com/. You will need TUCQ Phase I, as that is what we play with most often, and what I plan on using, should I be able to host tomorrow.

EDIT: How did I miss the fact that ChexCommander posted today!? :D

EDIT: Come to think of it, why do we need TUCQ Phase II Beta 3 if we will not be using it in the first place?
