Sandy Bridge is the second generation of Intel's Core processor family, and Ivy Bridge is the third generation. So Ivy Bridge is newer, slightly faster, and uses less power. However, since it uses a smaller die, it doesn't dissipate heat as well. So an Ivy chip isn't as good of an overclocker as its Sandy equivalent. (With an air cooler, anyway.)

But if you're not overclocking, Ivy Bridge is probably the way to go.

Yeah, i'm not overclocking, so it looks like that was a good choice.

Xbolt's got it. You can't go wrong either way, but Ivy's newer so it wouldn't hurt to get the newest generation.

LED lights are cool! Depends if you keep your PC on at night or not. XD

One suggestion: if you have any leftover money, purchase an Antec case.  These things last so long, they're like investments.

My experience with Cooler Master has been very good, I wasn't happy with my Antec case but I paid much less for it than I did for my cooler master case so perhaps it's not fair to compare the two.

My main complaint with the antec case was that the PCI card (slot covers?) were welded into the case, if I took them out there was no way to get them back in (my Cooler Master case holds them in with screws).

Alrighty then, I'll have to take a good look at cases from those two brands. I kinda want the screw held stuff though... Thanks for the suggestions, guys. As for the LED lights: I was planning to have some fun with the computers design. IE, cut out two eye shaped holes on the front top area, have red shine through there and other select spaces, have a hand-built jaw thing that opens up with the dvd drive (i know how to do that) and other things. Pretty much just make it look like a monster XD

I can vouch for Cooler Master as well.

I've liked my Antec...though TBH, for it being one of the parts I dropped down on to lower the cost, it turned out alright. But its a very plain, black tower, this 300...

CoolerMaster, on the other hand...stylish, for the most part. 8)

Hmm... looks like I'm going with Antec then, since I'll be 'styling' the case on my own.

My only suggestion is to not get something uber cool looking. Get something that works. Most of em do have those weird things (like 75's welded slot covers)

It says 20+4Pin, is that the same thing as 24Pin?

I now have the power supply and video card :D

Went to Fry's today, found the video card I wanted for the same price, and bought it, and found a nice PSU. Me like.

Hrrmmm... I think I'm gonna do this motherboard actually: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128546

Good deal!  Did you notice that for a limited time, it comes with free RAM?  8 GB worth!
