Does anyone know of any good & free hard drive and partition eraser programs? The laptop is an Acer  with a Vista in it.Thank you in advance!

Are you wanting to remove the OS? If not, just use the built-in partition manager. Its not that bad.

 :D Okay,will try.the darn thing is stubborn.Need to erase the whole os  to redo and give it to someone who needs it.Thank so much!  ;D ;D ;D

Make sure to write over it to remove the ghost layers of data!

If your removing the OS, just boot up a temporary running of Linux (Ubuntu will work fine) of a CD or USB stick and manage the partitions with it to delete them. You don't want to delete the Windows partition while your running Windows -_-
