Some Chex voxels + downloadable demo!
« on: July 02, 2013, 05:03:38 PM »
Was messing around with making some Chex Quest voxels a few days ago. Only issues right now with them is that in-game they spawn in the floor and I think they're off on the z axis too. A program called kvxoffset is supposed to fix that but I've been having trouble getting it to actually do what I want. (Probably looking over something obvious as per the norm for me) Fixed.

I like them. The first two are perfect, however I'm not sure I like the way the Large Zorcher looks. I think it's too flat; it looks like a cardboard cutout rather than an actual weapon. I suppose it might also be the angle. You did a great job on them though.

I know what you're thinking. No, I don't like peanut butter.

If I had to choose between the real world or the Chex Quest Fan forums; I'd choose the Chex Quest fan forums.

I do respect voxel makers!

But I do agree with replica, that large zorcher looks a tad flat.
Don't remember me as I was...I was an idiot.

It's much better. The anti-slime can thing is also really good. Nice work.

Another, I wouldn't expect me to pump these out so fast constantly, I'm just getting the easy ones out of the way. If anyone else wants to make some I haven't they're welcome to.

Guess what, I was overlooking something obvious as expected! The way you use that program I mentioned is dropping it in the folder with the voxels and clicking on it... and it's done. So yeah, offsets are no longer an issue. I also found out how to make objects spin, too, which looks pretty cool with the computer map.

Here, you can try out the few I've done so far. As shown above, I've done the following:

* Large Zorcher Pickup
* Slime Repellent
* Mini Zorcher Recharge
* Phasing Zorch Recharge
* Computer Auto Map

Sorry to bump, but I think that Flembrane would look a lot better as a voxel. 8)

Yeah, since they're two of the only ports that support voxels. (The third being DelphiDoom)

I thought Eternity supported Voxels too, but I'm not sure of that.

They tried implementing it, but for reasons I don't remember they were having problems and work on it came to a stop.

Here are some chex voxels I made. I remade/modified/improved all the original ones as well. I was going to wait till I had a bunch more done to release it, but I don't have access to my computer to work on making any more for a while.

I have been considering the possibility of using voxels for some items, but I am undecided.
