Minecraft YouTuber paulsoaresjr recently started a forum to go with his new server (which is really hard to get Whitelisted on), and it has 8000 users in 6 days. Several sections have opened on the board for discussion of other video games, and there's a section for first-person shooters, with only about 12 topics right now, so I started a topic for Chex Quest. :whale I wrote a nice summary of Chex Quest's origins and continued devoted fanbase.

What kind of hardware/connect does he use in order to support that many!!?!?
It's got to be something like the x3650 M4 with 2 dual port 1gb Ethernet cards, and 2 10g Ethernet Ports, 2 8 Core CPUs and 96GB of RAM.
As for Connection I'm going to guess he has some sort of T-carrier line dedicated to that monster, probably T5 or above. That is just insane.....
Wait: 8000 Users on the Forum? How many players does he have on his Server?

8000 forum members, his server maxes at 120. He's taking whitelist applications in rounds of 1000, the last one was last Friday, in 8 minutes the next one starts so there's a frenzy on the board's chat. And out of that 1000 only around 50 actually get in. It's crazy.
EDIT: The biggest server I've seen is the YouAreMinecraft server with 500 slots. It was originally 250 but it was maxing out and some people donated so they could expand it. Their description of the server: "t's a root machine, hosted at a huge hosting service. It has got 2 Xeon CPUs with 4 Cores each, 24 GB of RAM, SSD RAID and a 10 GBit network connection."
EDIT 2: The second round for whitelist applications was supposed to go up at 10:30, but there's so much traffic from people trying to get to it that it hasn't even been put up and hour after it was supposed to. But thankfully one of the admins posted a link in the chatroom for the people smart enough to go in there.
EDIT 3: After YouAreMinecraft upgraded to 500 slots I rarely see more than 300, and now for some reason they upped to max to 1337 slots, probably just for fun.

I just saw a hilarious video of Dave Grohl 'covering' stairway to heaven.
Its quite obviously a joke, because he not only forgets the words, but does a vocal solo cover and just stops randomly in the middle to 'correct' himself.
