A New Quest: Progress Report
« on: November 14, 2014, 06:02:37 PM »
Hello members of the CQFF! So, as some of you may know, I have been working on my mod "A New Quest" for a while now.

BUUUUT I haven't made a progress report.

I was in the chatroom with Boingo The Clown and he suggested I make a progress report for my mod.

So, here it is!

I will post my progress every so often, and for 2014, and most of 2015, all of this is probably gonna be concept sketches and the like.
So don't expect a full release anytime soon.
This mod is gonna be BIG.

EDIT: I suppose this topic will be important, so I'll sticky it.

If you have something important to post, post it. That was NOT important. Please memorize what topic you are actually POSTING IN.

I think that guy is actually a spambot. But without links and stuff, not a very good one...

Progress as of January 27, 2015
Remember the concept art that Chukker made for the original CQ? Yeah. I took the weapon from inside that sketch, traced over it with GIMP, and voila!

This could actually be a good Super Zorcher if I make firing frames for it.

Neat! But it could use better shading, and a bit of other work. Especially on the glove.

To be honest, as a starting sprite, it's not bad. Definitely needs work, but that's as good a base as any to work off of.

Also, there already is a Super Large Zorcher. As 'Super' Zorcher, how do you plan the mechanics to work?

noob1234: Yep, I am going to add shading, just haven't gotten around to it yet :P
ChexMaster2109: I think it's going to be like a Rapid Zorcher, except it's a secret weapon that is way more powerful.

If you could get the cylindrical part in the back to rotate, it could do for an interesting effect. Actually, if your going for powerful, I know a custom Doom weapon that doesn't have a counterpart that would be cool to emulate. If you want, I might actually do the DECORATE coding for this if you get a decent amount of sprites done.

Thanks for the offer, I accept it. I'll PM you the sprites when they're done. I'm terrible at DECORATE coding.  ;D
Heh, I edited your post, you forgot the apostrophe in "It's"

Progress as of February 1st, 2015
Okay, I've started the city levels of Bazoik. You never actually went into the city on Bazoik, there is a normal town there. I started work on the diner, I have a screenshot. This is from a while ago when I just started the map. Progress has been slow, but I'm starting to work again. I don't know if this mod is gonna get anywhere, or if it's just gonna die like the other small mods.

EPIC DOUBLE POST, The One To Show Concept Art

Bazoik has a regular city, in this mod you're supposed to visit the actual city of Bazoik. Here's one idea I had, one of the people who was having dinner dropped a powerful zorcher inside the diner, and it's a secret weapon.
You can pick it up.
Here's a concept sketch:

No. You don't have to ask every few months. (Sorry if that came out sounding rude.) Also try not to post in topics that are more than 2 months old. It's exempt in fan projects but you should try not to unless you have useful information to add to the topic. (Yes, I do that too.)
