REPLICA, DO NOT HELP. PLEASE. NOTHING AGAINST YOU, JUST YOUR SPRITING ABILITY.

Is there any chance someone could draw up some CQ sprites for me? :)

Lost Soul frames, but with 4 'ordinary flying' frames. :)

Thank you for your time.

I can't help you with making the sprites, but I will say this. You want it to replace the lost soul, but the concept shows it firing slime balls, which means you will either have to DECORATE it (a good option, since there are decent lost soul alternatives here), alter the lost soul to match the concept specifications with DeHackEd or whatever other ZDoom alternative is available, or alter the concept in keeping the lost soul as-is.

is-is.
You mean as-is?  :D

Hm, I haven't sprited, ever, so don't count me in...try asking Slime.

With a basic sketch, I may be able to render it to the specifications of the Doom pallet and then use magical Photoshop skills to create additional frames. I would, however, need a side view (e. g. A3A7 sprite) and a sketch of the A4A6 category.

I know what you're thinking. No, I don't like peanut butter.

If I had to choose between the real world or the Chex Quest Fan forums; I'd choose the Chex Quest fan forums.

Captain Ventris

You could use Decorate to spawn the slime droplets at random angles. It would look much better than making them actually part of the sprite. Just sayin'.

Thanks, Captain Ventris. :) That's a great idea.
Also, Replica, don't even TRY. I don't poke your sprites with a 30km wooden spoon. They just aren't... Chex Quest. :(
Thanks, Slimeinator. Maybe you could ask RedBicedipus to draw you up the other two. :)

I could do somethin for you if you'd like.  Here's an example of some of my work.

This is all MSPaint work.

This stuff is like 6 years old.  I am much better now than I was then... These just happen to be the only images I have uploaded to the net at the moment.  I may upload some newer examples in a bit if that isn't a good representation of my current level.

I like the sketch by the way.  Very faithful to Chex Quest and the name fits him in an odd way.

Also, is there a particular "dress code" as far as coloration goes when making sprites for a Doom wad?  I am not familiar with the mechanics of modifying Doom and whatnot, but I believe certain shades and colors won't work in it.  If you can fill me in on this, and the dimensions, number of frames etc. I can give you a hand.

Thank you Batman  ;) That means a lot.  That one took me somewhere around 3 hours I'd say, and then I used a simple blur option the program Game Maker 4.0 has, but other than that, it was all by hand in MSPaint.

One thing bothers me about it though, and that's that for some reason I decided to cut out a portion of the outline.  Don't recall why I did that...  but you live and learn.  Over time you get better and better.  Just take your time pixelling, use the magnifying glass A LOT, get used to using custom colors at slightly altered shades to give it a detailed shading effect, and have fun.  At first it takes time, but after a while you do it so fast and automatic that it feels more like fun than a chore, beleive it or not. lol

If someone can upload a template of the green shades the chex quest flemoids have, I can work with it and try to come up with a Flemoidus Calamus that fits in the game with a style as close to the other flemoids as possible.

I used to be somewhat of a paint whiz, I made a ball pixel by pixel.

I'm uploading an image of the colours you need to stick to now. ^^
EDIT:

Don't use the colour of the numbers themselves, just the boxes.
Background colour is not white, but Cyan. :)

Right on.  Which box corresponds to cyan?  Is it possible to send me an example sprite set of a flemoid so I can know how many frames and views and size of the sprites are?  I'll get to work on that as soon as I get that info if you want  :)  Sorry if I sound ignorant... I know next to nothing about Doom mods, though I do know Wolfenstein 3d.  Used to modify that game with a program called FloEdit back when I was 13 or so.

Here's some stuff I did recently for an RPG I am sort of starting up.  May or may not get complete:

I'll get you a list of lost soul frames when I get back. This computer doesn't have XWE, you know...
:) But thank you for your eagerness.
