Spriting tutorial by Eriance

I remembered this, and thought it would be great to link it here. It could help you aspiring spriters.

This is a tutorial by the amazingly talented Eriance from the ZDoom Forums. His personal wad is Demon Eclipse, if you want to look it up. You will need Photoshop, PaintShop Pro, or maybe the GIMP, and a scanner to follow the exact letter of the tutorial, but the general tips within can come in very handy. I figured this would be the place to put this.

I remember this topic. It was the first time I ever visited the Zdoom forums. I didn't have an account, but I still read through the topic.

I am automatically ruled out from the drawing-on-paper. You give me a pencil and tell me to draw a Commonus, what comes out resembles a standing Twinkie with a misshaped eye.

Duh. I mean, that's what I've been using for all the "more than simple recoloring" sprites in my mods, such as the Ultimus and the Gyro.

Wow. I just checked out the tutorial. I think I'm gonna try my hand at this because I can draw fairly well I just can't sprite... So I figure I'll give this method a go. Plus I really enjoy Eriance's work. It always seems to be top notch.
