Compiling the GZDooM source code.
« on: January 20, 2008, 08:03:15 PM »
I am having trouble with compiling the source code. I downloaded/installed everything in the ZDooM wiki article on the subject and followed its instructions to the letter. Yet, I cannot compile it! >:( Can anyone help me?

Is your compiler set for the proper language?

What is the error message your compiler spits out at you?
Did we really just spend the last decade talking about Chex Quest? Yes. Yes we did.

I regret nothing!

This is the message that it "spits" at me:

mingw32-make --C tools/lemon -f Makefile
mingw32-make[1]: Entering directory 'C:/GZdoom source/tools/lemon'
mingw32-make[1]: Makefile: No such file or directory.
mingw32-make[1]: *** No rule to make target 'Makefile'.  Stop.
mingw32-make[1]: Leaving directory 'C:/GZdoom source/tools/lemon'
mingw32-make: *** [basetools] Error 2.

@atariangamer: I just browsed around, and GZdoom has its own forum.

By the way, I just successfully compiled a working .pk3 file for the original Zdoom flawlessly. So, it's not a bug with the actual software. I also posted a topic in the GZdoom forum after browsing and not finding any thing.

You're missing a Makefile. The compiler has no idea what files it needs to compile with the main source file.

I poked around, and I found a couple different "Makefile" file types.
