AHCI Performance
« on: May 02, 2012, 06:58:02 PM »
Okay, so something flipped out in my PC when I just installed Windows 7 again, and it won't let me enable AHCI. When I do, my primary hard drive gives it an error or something, and it never passes the AHCI bios in the Gigabyte motherboard boot sequence.

Running it in IDE mode works, and it doesn't seem to slow, but I thought one reason to do AHCI was to get full performance from your SATA ports.

If there's no real difference, then I'll just leave it alone.
But if there's an advantage, and somethings wrong where I could use it before, but not now...Let me know, eh?
Don't remember me as I was...I was an idiot.
