Convert WMV to DVD?
« on: May 29, 2008, 01:08:58 AM »
I have a WMV movie that I want to burn onto a DVD. However, I am having much difficulty in converting it into the .VOB (MPEG2) format used in DVDs. I have two DVD authoring programs, one that came with the burner on my new computer, and the one that came with the old computer. The one on the old computer only exports the file with a 4:3 aspect ratio. That won't work, because the movie is in 16:9. The new one exports in 16:9, but it inexplicably causes the output video to stutter very badly in some places.

Does anybody know of any free software to convert .WMV to .VOB, and that supports 16:9 encoding, and doesn't make the video stutter, and generally doesn't stink?

Eh...well, first, I don't recomend trying to go straight to .VOB. Its hard to find one that does that. Now, the best thing to do is get a WMV=>MPEG converter, then try and burn it. I really haven't gotten to try out some widescreen video, so I don't know about that part...
Don't remember me as I was...I was an idiot.
